Don Bosco Tech- Kollam conducted a Market scan activity as a part of the Retail Management Curriculum on November 28, 2019.

In order to conduct the program, the trainees were divided into eight groups and all groups contained 6 to 7 members each. The trainer already provides them, the list of things that need to be collected and the target was that each group should visit a minimum of three retail sectors in Kollam. They should meet the Managers of retail sectors to arrange an interview with them.

The whole class was divided into eight groups and each group decided the sectors they want to visit and they took permission from those sectors within two days.

On November 28, 2019, at 10:30 am the trainees left Don Bosco Tech to do their market scan with the permission of Managers of each sector. So as per the plan, all the groups visited the different retail sectors in Kollam. The group members asked questions from the questioner. They had prepared for it earlier. The questions were based on the nature of the job they give to the employees, the kinds of job they have, the grades and level of salary and promotion they give to the employees and the rules and protocols of the sectors. All the groups did it very perfectly.

The market scan was almost a good and different experience for the students. They didn’t feel like an assignment. They enjoyed it fully. Most of them had a good conversation with the Managers of retail sectors. Totally it was a good experience for our trainees.
