TREES: An indispensable part of LIFE

To commemorate ‘World Water Day,’ Don Bosco Tech Society, Janbazpora organized a plantation drive in its premises on March 22, 2021. The Center’s staff, trainees, and the other officials were also part of the drive. The motive of the program was to send out ‘Where there are trees, there will be water; where there is water, there will be life, message to the society.

The event was presided over by Mr. Parviaz Ahmad (The District Forest Officer), and Mr. Gh Mohd Lone (Chief Education Officer, Baramulla), who were the chief guests for the day. Both inaugurated the event by planting chinar saplings in the garden.

The trainees and staff member’s participated in the event with great zeal and enthusiasm. The staff and the trainees also planted different kinds of saplings to conscientious the society about the environment.

“Trees are vital to the environment. They provide us with fresh air to breathe, a shelter for birds and animals. They also provide us with wood for various purposes, along with many medicinal and spiritual properties. However, deforestation has been its main enemy. This problem needs to be curtailed to ensure that the ecological balance is maintained,” said Mr. Aijaz Ahmad (Centre Coordinator).

The drive was a huge success empowering trainees with substantial knowledge of the environment and plants.
