Industrial Visit- Housekeeping Executive-Accenture 11-B3

To give trainees an edge over other institutes, the trainers of the Don Bosco Tech Siliguri center accompanied its hospitality students to Hotel Saffron, based in the heart of the Siliguri city. It was after days of planning that finally happened on February 2, 2022. During the guided tour candidates were accompanied by the hotel staff to all departments of the establishment.

Finally, a much more exciting day began with Mr. Adarsh Tamang’s (Trainer) calling out the trainees to assemble in front of the training center. The day then began from there with a briefing about the hotel. Further, the pupils boarded the bus and started for the venue.

At the hotel, on arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by duo Mr. Nima Sherpa (General Manager) and Mr. Rahul Shrivastav (F&B Manager). It was nice to be accompanied by them to each department with briefings on each. The sections they got to visit were F&B service, Housekeeping, the Front Office, and Food Production Department too. In addition to that the manager showed them the types of accommodation; from Deluxe, triple Deluxe to Attic.

Apart from rosy aspects of working in the hospitality sector, Mr. Sherpa also gave an insight into challenges one faces to help get ready for every eventuality. He was amicably explaining each students’ queries during a question and answer slot.

Interacting with Mr. Srivastav was another experience, listening to him about the F&B department.

As a whole, the entire tour was fruitful. At the end of the day, the trainees got exposure to the hotel work. This helped them better understand the classroom instruction.
