Guest Lecture on Solar Energy Scenario in India

To enrich the comprehensive skills and to stipulate the extra knowledge in Electrical field, Don Bosco Tech – Sabbavaram organized a guest lecture for the trainees of electrical Domain on November 6, 2019.

Mr. Raju was invited as a resource person to share his priceless knowledge and experiments for the guest lecture. He completed his M.Tech from Aryabatta Poly Technique College (Sabbavaram) and he is a professor in EEE department at his own college. The topic for the lecture was “Solar Energy Scenario in India”. It was a very opt topic for the trainees, because the future generation was introduced to the solar energy which is much needed in the country.

Mr. Chennakesavulu (Electrical Trainer) introduced the speechmaker of the day to the trainees. He addressed the trainees with a great pleasure. The objective of guest lecture is to impart fundamental knowledge on solar energy and its potential in India. The resource person started the lecture by interacting with the students about the maximum power generation and demand in India.

He delivered lecture on status of solar energy production and its need. He also explained the potential of solar energy in India, how much potential available and the research areas that can be developed under solar power system in India. The session followed by the project ideas in solar system that can be developed by the students and the possibilities of getting funds for these projects. He also showed some of the photographs of solar power plants in India and around the world, solar energy project based videos and the statistical data’s regarding the solar power production and its usages.

The guest lecturer noticed an immense interest among the trainees to know more knowledge regarding electricity. Trainees were benefited to a large extent by the practical exposure. The guest lecture put some innovative ideas in the minds of the students. They also proposed some practical measures and ideas to the speakers about how they could make use of the solar energy in their day to day life. The students found lecture session very useful. The guest lecture ended with a vote of thanks proposed by a P. Rani CE (ITeS Trainer) to the guest lecturer for spending some of his valuable time and sharing his most experienced knowledge with the trainees on an interested topic. All the trainees were happy to learn about new things and were motivated at the end of the day.
