Experience shared: As Lecture

Experience is the best teacher’ is an old saying. But it still holds its truth. Don Bosco Tech Society (Sabbavaram) had invited Mr. Pardhasaradi (Junior Leccturer of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Aryabhatta Polytechnic College) to share his years of industrial experience with the electrical domain trainees of the center on January 23, 2020. What we know of him is that he is the alumni (B. Tech, Electrical) of Aryabhatta Polytechnic College (Sabbavaram) and now associated with the ‘electrical tools’ division. This suffices him as a resourceful.

Mr. Chennakesavulu (Trainer, Electrical) introduced the trainees to the resource person who was asked, in much advance, to brief the trainees on the ‘fundamentals of AC’. The resource person lectured on a well-prepared topic to the trainees by defining AC and its function. “Air conditioners are a central heating and cooling system that gives-out cool air,” said Mr. Pardhasaradi. “There are three types of Air Conditioning; Split AC, Central AC, and Window AC,” he said added, “Every AC has 4 main components, namely Composer, Condenser, Expansion Valve, and Evaporator.”

Followings are the explanation given by the resource person about three types of ACs:
1.    Window AC: This is one of the cheapest AC. However, it is assembled with all four essential components.
2.    Split AC: It is complex but popular and hence costly. It has both an outdoor unit (compressor and condenser) and an indoor unit. Therefore, it’s less noisy.
3.    Central AC: Compressor and condenser are both placed outdoor.

The resource person explained through a short video to the trainees on the function of AC. The entire program was helpful to the trainees. They do value this knowledge shared by the resource person. He simplified the lesson to make it understandable.

The guest lecture was ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. P. Rani (Trainer, CE & ITES) for sharing his valuable time and knowledge with the trainees. All the trainees were happy to learn some new things, they never heard of it ever before.
