Job Fair

A job fair is an event where employers, recruiters, and schools provide an opportunity to potential employees. Employment is the main focus for any Country/Society because only giving the best education or training to students is not enough. The system has to provide a platform for the students to implement and explore their skills in the professional field. Job fairs are commonly held for entry-level job recruitment. Job seekers use this opportunity to stand out from other applicants and get an overview of what it is like to work for a company or a sector that seems interesting to the applicant.

Taking additional responsibility to support the youth in making the right start in their career, Don Bosco Tech Haridwar organized “Job Fair -2022” in the Punjabi Dharamshala, where more than 50+ alumni got selected by different companies.

The companies, which invited to the fair, included 12 companies. To name a few, there was GK Trading, Levi's, Hotel Ganga Residency, Sony Electronics, Batla Agencies, P&S Company, H.S. Electronics, Virasat Finance, Bajaj Capital, Paropkar Foundation, Numero Uno and Kalyan Ayurvedic.

Around 100 candidates turned up for this job fair, of which 50+ were selected by the various companies that interviewed the candidates. There were many graduates seen on the campus from far and near who came to grab the opportunity. On entering the venue, the youth follow the registration process at the reception and could view the list of companies and their requirement so that they could identify their choice of company. The candidates would then go to the company’s desk which was arranged accordingly within the campus.

The Job Fair was inaugurated by Mr Vibhas Sinha, President of Haridwar Coaching Association, Mr Anil from GK Trading Company & Mr Ajay from Kalyan Ayurved. This was followed by a briefing conducted by Mr Rakesh Arora (State Coordinator, Haridwar). Adequate and separate facilities were provided to the companies for conducting their recruitment process as it varies from industry to industry. Some representatives held a round of written tests, followed by group discussions (GD) and personal interviews (PA). There were companies offering jobs on the spot by taking interviews with keen and suitable candidates. Many companies complying with their guidelines were seen collecting CVs from the young graduates who came to the job fair. During the event, Haridwar centre was pleased to have Mr Asghar and Mr Rahul from ITC Ltd, who visited and interacted with the trainees and Employers and also motivated them about the importance of employment in life.

This event was a success for Don Bosco Tech Haridwar which took a great initiative in bridging the gap between the employees and employers. Moreover, this will continue to be carried out for the years to come with the mission to transform the lives of marginalized youth.
