One-Day Symposium On Child Trafficking & Exploitation

On December 10, 2019, trainees of Don Bosco Tech-Chitradurga attended a one-day symposium on "Child Trafficking & Exploitation" at District Sports Auditorium in Chitradurga, under the effort and support of Fr. Sonychen Mathew (Director, Don Bosco Chitradurga) along with the trainers of Don Bosco Tech and Staff. The theme for the symposium was to discuss the Child Trafficking & Exploitation and take a new turn to give the real meaning to the term justice.

"All Karnataka United Christian Forum Of Human Rights (R)" organized this program to celebrate  “Human Rights Day” on December 10 every year. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. All need to stand up for their own rights and those of others. All can take action in their own daily lives, to uphold the rights that protect us all and thereby promote the kinship of all human beings.

Fr. Sonychen Mathew invited all the stakeholders and trainee, SHG women from all over Chitradurga. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Sri Shivamurthy Shivacharya Murugha Sharanaru along with Rev. Fr. Saji George SDB, Dr. Mathew, Mr. Abraham, Mrs. Suhasini, Pastor Raju, Pastor Arun and various others by watering the plant. Sharanaru spoke at length regarding the importance of the day as well as of the need to travel from Himsa to Ahimsa and the aftereffects of the same.

The day-long training took place under the leadership of Dr. Mathew and Mrs. Suhasini which was translated and made understandable by Mr. Sujay. Dr. Mathew who explained the reason for child trafficking, growing incidence of child trafficking, Laws against child trafficking, and solutions or ways to end child trafficking and exploitation.

He showed videos that were related to child trafficking & exploitation and requested everyone to spread awareness on child trafficking and exploitation, and human rights.

The whole day was meaningfully and joyfully spend, the information provided by them was really useful, valuable and informative to trainees. Finally, trainers and trainees expressed their gratitude to Fr. Sony, Pastor Raju and the team for their efforts.
