Campus Placement for Hospitality Trainees held at Don Bosco Tech (Nitika, West Bengal)

The passing out trainees from the first batch of ITC Year 5 Hospitality domain of Don Bosco Tech (Nitika) were offered an opportunity to appear for an opening in Barbeque Nation on May 9, 2017. Over the years, Barbeque Nation has placed numbers of Don Bosco Tech trainees from across India in their different branches.

Barbeque Nation is an Indian restaurant chain, owned by Indore-based Sayaji Hotels Limited. The first restaurant opened in Mumbai in January 200 and has private equity firm like CX Partners as its investor. Mr. Saikat Singh, HR Manager, Barbeque Nation visited the centre and conducted a brief session on necessity of placement details that were informative and conducive for development of the trainees. Mr. Saikat Singh focused precisely on how to become a good employee in hotel industry and briefly discussed about the qualities of exceptional employee and work place protocol etc. He added that a staff should have a voluntary mind towards their works thereby handles and enjoys his job well. He also talked about the prosperity of the hotel in Kolkata and its different outlets, forthcoming opportunity of the fresher and new experiences. Consequently, he shared his experience in hotel industry the hardships and prosperity that followed due to his efficiency and hard work.

Before the interview get underway, Mr. Saikat Singh explained about the working conditions, timing, and pay scale of Rs. 7000 8000/- month along with Provident Fund (PF) and Employee State Insurance (ESI). Since the trainees will be placed in different outlets of India, Mr. Saikat assured them full job opportunity and assistance during migration. Mr. Saikat also added that the alumni of Don Bosco Tech are faring well in the performance since the day they joined Barbeque Nation and looks forward to hire more trainees in the near future.

At the end of the campus interview, 11 trainees were offered the job offer letter with the monthly remuneration of Rs. 7500/- including the meal. Mr. Saikat requested the selected trainees to join as early as possible. Finally, all the trainees thanked the trainers and staff of Don Bosco Tech for their ardent support and wholehearted cooperation. The arranged sessions and interviews ended happily and enthusiastically.
