Don Bosco Tech Society celebrates World Youth Skills Day 2017

On July 15, 2017, several countries across seven continents celebrates World Youth Skills Day. United Nation had declared July 15 as the day of observance in 2016 to raise awareness about the importance of youth developing skills. As Worldskills quotes, “Everyone should have the opportunity to discover and develop their talents. Through skills individuals, communities, and countries can create a more prosperous future.” In India, the country celebrates the second anniversary of the launch of India Skill Mission inaugurated by the honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi.

Don Bosco Tech Society organized an online photo contest for all the centre team with the theme “Skills for the Future of Work”. Approximately 20 centres had participated in the online contest showcasing the best of the talents and skills that would enhance and help in the career of the trainees in future. 

Many centres had organized a friendly competition, exhibition, sports and lectures that helped the trainees to bring out their best in form of talents and art. Don Bosco Tech – Tigri, Delhi had organized henna designing and poster making competition for the trainees of SMO (Sewing Machine Operator), Assistant Beauty Therapist and Data Entry Operator. Trainees at Don Bosco Tech – Katni had organized a domain wise competition where the students exhibit the best of their knowledge. Likewise several other Don Bosco Tech centres like Talebhat, Moth and Sagar from Uttar Pradesh, Assisi from Nagaland, Bhopal, Clara Niketan – Bhopal and Jaisinagar from Madhya Pradesh, Muzaffarpur from Bihar, Diamond Harbor and Bandel from West Bengal, SPMS Polur, Vyasarapadi and Perambur from Tamil Nadu, Chullikara and Aluva from Kerala and Ghatsila from Jharkhand all celebrated the World Youth Skills Day with events and activities that made the trainees to participate and appreciate their skills gained and polished during the period of their training. 

Each and every trainee were excited with a good team spirit and participated in the activity conducted by the centre team which was captured in photographs.
