Constructive English Learning Activity conducted by Don Bosco Tech – Kurla, Maharashtra.

Don Bosco Tech Society conducted Eight days English Speaking class under the banner of Don Bosco Plus from June 21 – 28, 2017. Through this activity, Don Bosco Tech covered five schools from Latur district i.e. Zila Parishad Girls High School – Chakur and Bhada, Zila Parishad Boys High School - Jawali, Zila Parishad High School - Lamjana and Harangul in Maharasthra. This program was coordinated and conducted under the guidance and support of Mr. Royal D'souza (NSS Head, Don Bosco Kurla, Fr. Anthony Santrita (Director – Don Bosco) and Mr. Kiran Patange (District Coordinator – RMSA Project). 
The Don Bosco Tech Trainers viz., Mr. Chetan, Mr. Ganesh, Ms. Sonali and Mr. Omkar were also associated in the program to make it successful. Six trainees of Don Bosco Tech, Kaustubh Morye, Sagar Mhashelkar, Vishal Manikade, Nitin Bohra, Shantanu Tekade and Ambesh Singh from Don Bosco Institute Of Technology, Mumbai gave their best towards the success of this program and accordingly planned it. 
The motive behind this program was to encourage young students to converse in English and overcome the fear of stage which would boost the confidence and helped them to improve their spoken English. Activities like self-introduction, story narration, essay writing, grammars, quiz competition, etc. was conducted make the students comfortable and fully engaged during the 8 days’ session. The activities were also aimed to reflect the importance of English to the students.
By conducting this program, we observed that there was a boost in the confidence of the students and were able to express their feeling more freely in English. They were happy and satisfied by this interaction and insisted to conduct similar program again in the near future. Rohit, students of Zilla Parishad High School, Harangul said, “We enjoyed a lot. We learn how to give our intro, heard a very interesting story about Akbar and Birbal and learn some new words. Overall it was way more fun than we thought”. With grateful heart and thoroughly satisfied with the session, Asha, a student of class 5 from Zilla Parishad Girls High School, Chakur thanked the trainees, “Thank you for teaching us and clearing our doubts about English. Because of you we think we can speak English confidently.
The Principals and teachers of these schools were happy to extend the session, keeping in mind that the students were keen to learn more about English language. Mr. Avinash Bhokare (ZPHS, Harangul Dist. Latur) said, “All the six students from Don Bosco Tech taught our students English language, some computer skills, dialogue writing, communication skills, grammar, building vocabulary and sentence formation. Their presentation was very much helpful to the students, who was excited and were keen throughout the 8 days’ session”. As a token of appreciation, the principals felicitate with a letter of appreciation.
This activity not only gave the trainees an opportunity to experience a new thing outside the classroom but also gave an exposure to deal and help young people as a part of their social responsibility. Expressing his thought, Nitin Bohra said, “We had not thought about the amazing days and session that I have experience in this activity. At the beginning, I was not so sure how the program would start and end as I hardly mingle with children and to teach them was something I had never thought about. However, I am very happy that the 8 days turned out to be my most memorable days and experience. I thank Don Bosco Tech and Don Bosco Technical Institute for organizing and giving me this opportunity. I wish to attend similar program again in the future”.
