One Day Job Fair organized at Munger by Don Bosco Tech Society

Don Bosco Tech Society in association with the District Employment Exchange and ITC Limited organized a job fair on September 9, 2017 at Polo field in Munger, Bihar. In the event, seventeen companies had participated to offer employment and placement as operator, production, salesman, automobile technician, steward, etc. Prominent companies like Sai Bio-tech, Rai’s Education, Vivo Mobile, Jio Mobile, to name some, were the participating employers at the fair. Altogether the fair saw the application of 1500 potential candidate out of which 378 were short-listed by different companies for employment or for the second round of interview. Out of 1500 participants, 240 were trainees of Food and Beverage – Steward, Automobile, Helper Electrician, Retail and Sales and Basic Welding domains from 3 Don Bosco Tech centres, i.e.  Bindwara More, ITI Munger and Bariyarpur. 

Mr. Shambhunath Sudhakar (Officer – District Employment Exchange, Munger) welcomed Honorable Chief Guests Mrs. Ruma Raj (Mayor, Munger), Mr. Vijay Kumar Vijay (MLA, Munger), Mr. Manish Kumar (Asst. Programmer Coordinator, ITC-CSR, Munger), Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha (Asst. Director – District Employment Exchange), Ms. Pinky Kumari (Officer – District Employment Exchange, Bhagalpur) and Mr. Ravi Kumar (Cluster Coordinator, Don Bosco Tech) with bouquet of flowers. He introduced the guests to the audience and elucidate about the program feature at the job fair. 

The event was inaugurated by lighting candle as a symbol for auspicious beginning by the Chief Guests. Speaking to the audience, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha said, “This job fair is an effective step to provide job to the needy candidates to fulfill their dreams”. He further added that job fair is becoming a success day by day where candidates shows their keen interest towards it and get an opportunity to learn about employable and marketable trade as well as an offer for a job.  Asserting on the positivity of the job fair, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha also says that it will definitely provide support to those candidates who want a job in a private organization and is ready to migrate to other states for more opportunity.

Vouching for the need of skills training Mr. Shambhunath Sudhakar said that every youth in a society wants to get a job for which one need to thoroughly skill trains in a marketable trade from a skill training or community development program. Therefore, youth and their family members need to acknowledge the need of getting skills for sustainable livelihood.  He insisted all the participating employers to provide job and competitive salary per the trainees’ educational qualification and skills that they acquire. He asked the audience, who consisted of potential and employable candidate as well as trainees, to come forward with any types of query regarding the company or salary. 

Thanking the organizer and sponsor for organizing such event, Mr. Vijay Kumar Vijay wished all luck to the trainees for suitable and best job for themselves. He divulge that at the beginning of a career one’s salary will be less than what he/she may thought however it should not be a worry as it will give him/her an opportunity to learn and develop ones talent and skills which will be helpful and acknowledge by the employer and that would help him to carry forward towards better salary and promotion. 

Addressing the youth and all the potential candidate present at the event, Mrs. Ruma Raj said, “Job fair is an opportunity for everyone and it is helpful which not only provide an unemployed youth a job but also will definitely help to reduce unemployment in a society”. She also insisted that unemployment is a curse for the society and that all must work against it by organizing event like job fair, etc. on regularly basis.

Ms. Pinky Kumari emphasized that women empowerment is necessary today in our society and they should take steps forward to reduce unemployment and contribute not only to the family but also to the society. She added that this job fair also give an equal opportunity to female candidates as well. 

As the event come to an end, Mr. Ravi Kumar gave vote of thanks thanking all the chief guests and employers for giving their precious time and support. He also thanked trainees and other candidates for coming forward to participate in the event and making the fair successful while wishing them for their better and prospective future.
