Exposure Visit to Electrical Substation by students of Don Bosco Tech (Kurnool)

To provide hands-on experience in Electrical domain, an exposure visit was organized for the trainees to a substation located at Nandhyala Road (Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh) on June 20, 2018. All the trainees who are undergoing advance skill training under JP Morgan project, are part of this exposure visit. The trainees were accompanied by Mr. Vineeth (Electrical Trainer, Don Bosco Tech – Kurnool) and other staff members of the centre.

The Mr. Lokaraju (In-Charge, Electrical Substation) welcomed all the trainees and staff members. He explained about the work experience in power house, safety measures, process of Electricity supply to the city and also earthen heat controlling methods. He also explained about the Transformers, power distributions, thunder bolt resisters, oil circulations incoming power supply, step down 33/11KV, parts of the transformers, capacitor bank, feeders, lighting arresters, bus bars 3-phase power meter, etc.

Trainees were very happy with this exposure visit where they got a real-time experience about the Electrical Substation. While sharing the experiences, many trainees mentioned that this is first of its kind of industrial tour to which helps them to understand the real-time experiences, knowledge and exposure.
