“I cannot imagine where I am now, but I am thankful for not being where I use to be. Thanks to Don Bosco Tech society and the trainers for giving me the confidence to move ahead in life”, says Sumanth M S. He is a Sales Executive at Jos Alukkas Finance in Madurai, Tamil Nadu earning a monthly salary of 15000 INR.

Sumanth is a 22-year-old boy who decides not to rely on the Government’s free perks, schemes and benefits but to find ways to live a good life. He comes from a village in Kollam, Kerela. He lives with his father Mohan Nair who is a porter, his mother Sudharma a homemaker, and his elder brother. As far as academics are concerned, his grades and performances were quite low but he managed to complete his 12th standard. Because of his low grades and study habits, his brother who is an alumnus of Don Bosco Tech Latabari recommended him to join the free skill training. He visited the centre and during counselling, the trainer encouraged him to continue what he left out as he did not clear his 11th standard. He took the advice and continued his studies. After completing his 12th standard, he revisited the training centre and enrolled himself in the IT sector. He chose CRM Non-Voice as his domain after evaluating the quality interest test. During the training, he has improved his study skills and time management. The push by the trainer each week was very beneficial.

Initially, when he joined the course he felt incompetent compared to his fellow classmates. He was not confident to engage in group assignments and discussions. When the trainers noticed this, they handhold him and made him confident. They appointed him as a team leader when activities are conducted at the centre. After a certain period of time, signs of improvement were shown by Sumanth. He led a performance in the inauguration programme. He even learned how to operate the computer and communicate effectively. He had developed the right attitude to face the crowd with confidence. After the training, he was interviewed at Joy Alukkas Finance Madurai and got selected for the post of Sales Associate. He was very much content with his efforts. He joined work on the 4th of January 2021. He is truly devoted to his job. He is presently earning a monthly salary of 15000 INR with allowance. His experience with Don Bosco Tech Kollam is one that he will remember forever, including receiving special treatment from his trainers. These experiences have strongly defined his career path.
