“When all my hope was crushed, Don Bosco Tech Society lifted me, gave me back my confidence and courage to follow my career path to success. I am now a trainer and I could see myself in my students and it gives me immense pleasure to observe their learning journey and it gives me motivation,” stated Nikhil Victor.

Nikhil Victor is the son of Victor and Agnes who resides in Thekkevila, which is located in Kollam, Kerela. He is 28 years old, born into a middle-class family. There are four members in his family. His father is a retired railway officer, who is the only bread earner of the family. His sister left home right after marriage which leaves him and his parents at home. Just after his father’s retirement, Nikhil was in his graduation phase. Fortunately, he managed to graduate with his father’s savings.

Life was much unexpected for Nikhil with many twists and turns. After his master's degree, he got a job as the Assistant Manager in Ayush Product Sales & Service, Kottarakkara. Within one year he got promoted as manager of that organization and became the top company in that particular area of business operations. When all seems well, luck did not favor him as the market share of the organization came down and all the employees were terminated at once.

In distress, he started to look for a job domestic and abroad. Nevertheless, with limited experience, he managed to attend many interviews and got placed in an organization abroad as a secretary but due to the pandemic, he lost this job too. All the struggles and efforts he put forth to get the job, was in vain. He was disappointed and lost confidence in himself. He realized getting a job during the pandemic is the hardest thing for him so he had to return home.

When he has lost all hope, he heard an announcement made in church about the Skill training program of Don Bosco Tech Society. With no second thought, he visited the center and got himself registered. After the counseling session, he decided to join for CRM Domestic Non-Voice Domain. He had a very keen interest in picking up new skills and knowledge which are very essential to compete in the world as a job seeker.

After three months of training at Don Bosco Tech, Nikhil was placed as a trainer at The Quilon Don Bosco Society, Skilled Training Programme, based in Kollam District with a monthly salary of 15000K. His new job is just enough to meet the family expenses however, his family is happy and proud of him for not giving up. In his free time, he would conduct motivational to Kudumsree and other communities.

He expresses his gratitude towards Don Bosco Tech, who helped him in building his career in training and retained his courage and confidence from nothing to everything.
