Shalini V who works as production assistant at Kalpa Elektrical is from Malur in Karnataka. She comes from a lower middle-class family who has father, mother, younger brother and sister. Shalini’s father is a farmer, mother has just started with tailoring at home and her siblings are studying. 

Shalini did a course in Architecture after her 12th standard. But stayed home after the course as she could not get a job in that field. While she was looking for different career opportunities in front of her, she heard about the advanced training program at DBSM under JP Morgan through a friend and joined the course. 

She opted for electrical course at Don Bosco Skill Mission. The domain was completely new to her as she did not have any electrical background but was interested to learn new things in electrical. Together with her interest in electrical and the quality training she received, she completed the training program and got placement in Kalpa Elektrical in Bangalore. 

Shalini completed the course in July 2017 and joined the company in September and continuing to work there as production assistant. Her salary at the time of joining was Rs. 10,000 and now she earns Rs. 11,000. 

According to Shalini, her life has changed for her after the training program at DB Tech as she is independent now getting a good exposure to the real world outside the comfort of her home. She also supports her family since she started working and has dreams of progressing higher in her career. She is confident about speaking in front of a group of people and has learnt the work etiquettes with her current employer. 

Her employer has very good opinion about Shalini, says she is a quick learner and does her job with interest and commitment. Shalini thanks DB Tech and JP Morgan for providing her this opportunity to start off her career.
