A girl with a dream to fly high has been working as a Barista in UAE, Dubai for Starbucks, an international coffee chain. “Whatever I am today, it’s because of Don Bosco Tech,” says Anuradha. She added, “I owe my humble gratitude to all my staff, who have walked by my side, to my companions, who have nurtured me and above all to Don Bosco Tech for recognizing my potential and for the opportunity.”

Anuradha Sharma, a resident of Teesta, Deogram village of Darjeeling district in West Bengal was once a frustrated girl, being unemployed, although graduate lacked employable skills and confidence. As a result, she was not able to help her siblings financially, who looked up to her for support. To chase her dreams, she wanted to move to bigger cities to earn to help her family.

At this juncture, Anuradha’s neighbor & friend informed her about the free skill training and placement offered by Don Bosco Tech Society. She immediately enrolled herself for the training in hospitality at the Siliguri center after an initial inquiry. It was a turning point in her life. There was no looking back from then on. In the next three months, she vowed herself to make the best use of the time in learning and developing to take up a job at the earliest.

Soon, upon completing the training in Hospitality, Anuradha got an opportunity to work as a Guest Service Associate at the Maldives with an international Restaurant, The Manhattan. With sheer hard work and determination, she worked there from 2016-18 and earned rave reviews for her dedication and temperament. While working with The Manhattan, another opportunity came her way in 2019 when she was chosen as a Barista in UAE, Dubai for Starbucks, an international coffee chain. She is working here currently and is very happy and satisfied with everything.

She has become the brand ambassador for the youth who otherwise would have lost hope, especially for the Don Bosco Tech, Siliguri’s trainees. She has been recommending the youths of her neighborhood to pursue this course which has helped her shape the career path.
