Ms. Theresa M Marak is currently working in O2 SPA Salon Pvt. Ltd. with a monthly salary of Rs. 10,000/- per month with free food and lodging. She joined this organization on May 20, 2019, and is still working as a therapist based in Arya Spa, Aurika Hotel, Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Ms. Theresa was born on November 24, 1997, to Mr. Montu Ch Sangma and Mrs. Meena M Marak in a far off village of Chigijangre, West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya. Her parents are farmers by profession and live their life depends on the bounty of agriculture. She is the 5th child of her parents. Ms. Theresa resides in a family of 11; with 8 siblings, excluding her and her parents. Her parents had a hard time providing all the basic requirements as her family size is big and they had to look after her other siblings as well. Therefore, she lives with her aunt who lives in one of the remote villages of Konagittim, in Meghalaya. It is she who finds means to support her in providing adequate education and other necessities of life.

It was then when Ms. Theresa’s aunt was perusing home nursing in Guwahati heard about the free skill training and hand holding placement provided by  Don Bosco Tech Society at Ampati Centre of Meghalaya, felt extremely happy and sent Theresa to join in the course. She enrolled to pursue a course in the Assistant Beauty Therapist domain in the Beauty and Wellness sector of Supporting Human Capital Development in the Meghalaya (SHCDM) initiative at Don Bosco Tech (Ampati) on March 18, 2019.

She was a keen learner who had little idea about Beauty and Wellness as she had already completed an advance course earlier in Beauty and Therapist from Rural Vocational Training Institute (RVTI), Tura. However, she was passing through a tough time as she was not getting recruited in any organization despite the immense effort. She would participate actively in all activities during the training and decided to work on building self-confidence and improve her communication skills. She was also observed to be obedient and well mannered. Her dream was to explore and develop herself and to work hard to be independent and support her younger ones. She was also very adventurous; to explore and travel around the world,” said  Tengsri R Marak (Trainer, Assistant Beauty Therapist).

“I am thankful to the Don Bosco Tech Society and all the trainers and management who allowed me to work on self-development and built my career. I am confident now. Thus, I can see the future ahead of me,” said Ms. Theresa M Marak.
