My poor mother was the only daily bread winner for us as I lost my father a few years ago. Thus, I always wanted to help my mother and wanted to improve the condition. For the reason, I completed my P.U.C. and started looking for some work. I worked where ever I got the chance, be it hotels or any. No matter how hard I worked the conditions never improved as the salary being offered was really less.  

One Sunday, when I was in church there was announcement made by Parish Priest regarding the free 3 month training programme being launched by DB Tech in partnership with MoRD, especially for the poor and needy ones. And it was told that the rest of the details can be taken by visiting the DB Tech nearest centre located at Trasi.  Next day, I along with my sister who has just completed her 12^th went to the centre and enrolled our names then and there without wasting much of the time. We were admitted to the domain - Hotel Management.

I joined the training with great enthusiasm; the training was a wonderful experience for me. I found training to be most appropriate and much helpful to me, it was really motivating. The training has not only imparted knowledge and skills to work but has also given me a chance to groom myself, learn etiquettes to perform better in the outside world. This is the best that could happen to me, I heartily thank all my trainers for this.

After 3 months of training, I got a chance to be interviewed at Moti Mahal, a three star hotel in Mangalore. Luckily enough I cleared the interview and was asked to join the very next day. The day I got the job was the happiest day of my life. Full of energy and hopes, I started working, and it is after joining that I realized the importance of all that was taught to me. At the work place, I carry out each task being assigned to me quite confidently. The things taught are proving to be really useful in the daily conduct at office. Now I could speak better English, it was due to dialogue exercises, group discussions, and loud readings being exercised during the training classes. Here at Moti Mahal, I am drawing the monthly salary of Rs. 4,500/-.  Apart from it, I receive other benefits such as P.F., E.S.I.C, three times meals and accommodation in addition to ‘Tip’. Let Great thoughts and Good work by D.B. Tech may bear abundant fruit on earth.
