22-year-old Deepak Matthew hails from Ayanavaram, a place in the Northern part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He comes from a very poor family consisting of his father, a driver, his mother who is a homemaker, and an elder sister. His elder sister is an alumnus of Don Bosco Tech Vazhikaatti belonging to the 2016 batch and is working as a Tally instructor in Don Bosco Vazhikaatti.

Referred by his sister, he got himself enrolled for the AI-Data Quality Analyst job role which was virtually facilitated by the Don Bosco Tech Vazhikaatti Center team. With a passion for learning and an eagerness to acquire employability skills, Deepak completed the course successfully with great enthusiasm. He was found to be taking up leadership among his batch mates right from the start in their daily activities and in organizing special events. He used to visit the center regularly to clarify doubts directly with the trainers.

Upon successful completion of the course, he attended an interview with HCL Technologies Ltd and got hired as a Developer, with a salary package of INR 300000/- per annum. “Being a Mathematician, I never imagined that I would begin my career as a Developer and all the credit goes to Don Bosco Tech Society and Accenture India Ltd for their concern for a poor youth like me”, exclaims Deepak. “I knew that joining Don Bosco Tech’s BASE Program would certainly empower and create a positive impact in my brother’s life”, says Divya, Deepak’s sister.
