Banrisha Syiemlieh, a young girlwho comes from a village Mawkyrwat in west khasi hills of Meghalaya faced similar problem, but what surprised is that today she is working with an international brand and earning the salary of Rs 3000 per month along with some allowance. What made it possible is the DB Tech’s BASE Programme, which offers three month-long livelihood training courses in different domains for the deprived and disadvantaged youth and also assists them in getting placed in the industry.

Banrisha Syiemlieh call out, DB Tech came as a turning point in her life, when the Trainers from DB Tech Barapani met her during the mobilization activity. She visited the centre, gave Interest inventory test following the admission procedure and got admitted for the training in Hospitality – Cookery Domain. The discussion with her trainers made it clear that during the training programme she was always found to be very sincere, attentive and ready to learn new things. Before joining the program she was introvert but gradually she developed her soft skills and confidence.

She is today working with café Oromo located at Guwahati and very happy to get such an opportunity in an International brand. Expressing her happiness at her victory, she says, “This opportunity by DB Tech has made my dream come true, without paying even a single penny, I got to learn many valuable and essential things. I have got an opportunity to stand on my own feet and create an individual identity. My mentors have helped me in building up my confidence, improving my communication skills and have always motivated me. Now I feel confident enough to face all sorts of challenges that comes my way. Earlier, I used to be afraid of meeting new people and never thought that I will be able to earn my own livelihood. I am very much grateful to DB Tech for conducting such training program for the economically marginalized youth”.

Her mother is of the view that “Banrisha Syiemlieh has set an example for all girls whose parents were afraid of sending their daughters to work outside. I am thankful to DB Tech family for making my daughter’s future bright”.
