Sarita Kalet, a 22-year-old girl from a poor family in Tetelpada, Sambalpur, Odisha, has always faced financial challenges. Her father, a private worker, earns Rs. 14,000 per month, making it difficult to manage household expenses, including rent, school fees for her younger sister, and other family needs. As the eldest child, Sarita took great effort to complete her 10th grade (Matriculation) education. Though she dreamed of pursuing higher studies, financial constraints made it impossible. She helped her mother with household chores while seeking opportunities to support her family.

One day, Sarita came across a mobilization drive near her village by DB Tech faculty, promoting a skill development training program in mushroom cultivation. Initially, she assumed the training would involve fees, but upon approaching DB Tech, she learned that the course was free. She submitted her educational qualifications and other necessary documents and enrolled in the Mushroom Grower domain in batch 7 of the Accenture-12 program.

During the 45-day training period, Sarita was regular and eager to learn. She acquired essential knowledge about mushrooms, including the climate conditions needed for their growth, the procedures and techniques for mushroom cultivation, bagging techniques, and mushroom spawn production. The training also provided practical experience through field visits to mushroom farms and information about marketing opportunities.

After completing the training program, Sarita started cultivating paddy mushrooms in a shed in her backyard. Initially, she earned about Rs. 1000 per week from her cultivation. She is thrilled with the short-term training program, which enabled her to start earning quickly. Her social status has improved, and she is grateful to DB Tech for providing her with the technical knowledge and expertise in mushroom cultivation. Sarita dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur, increasing her mushroom production, pursuing higher studies, and supporting her family.
