Sapna Kumari, a 19 years old girl belongs to village Bali located in the district Udhampur. Her father, Sh. Mohan lal is a labour and Mother is a housewife. She has two brothers who are studying. The family income is just Rs. 4000 per month which is insufficient for a family of five members. Owing to such miserable condition of the family, she wanted work to support the family financially. At the time when she was struggling to get a job, she discovered about the DB Tech’s BASE Programme from one of his friend. 

 

She joined the programme at Don Bosco Tech (Udhampur), with a view to learn and explore her skills. On the basis of his Interest Inventory Test she gave trainers suggested her to choose Hospitality Domain. “When I attended the first day of induction, it reminded of my school days. It was pleasant to meet new classmates and experienced new things. During induction I learned about Himayat programme and DB Tech.” Even if she was bit reserved; she always used to be interested in learning new things. During the training, she learnt about the different departments like housekeeping, front office, tally caller etc. We even used to go for field visits to get a live experience.

 

At the completion of the three months training, I got selected by Honda at a salary of Rs. 3300 per month. Her Communicative English Trainer said, “She has been an enthusiastic, dedicated and determined trainee throughout the training period. Giving a message to her co-trainees she says, “This kind of training is really beneficial for the unemployed youth, so one should not miss this golden opportunity. The Curriculum is completely market oriented. If one complete 90 day training successfully then he/she can easily get an entry level job.
 

Don Bosco Tech has changed my life completely and has provided me the best chance to shape my life. Her parent’s whispers, “She is a hard worker, though before joining this course her confidence level was not that strong but after this course has helped her a lot. We feel proud on her, her siblings wants to follow her.”
