“I am ever grateful to Don Bosco Tech, because of the training and the placement. I am confident enough to do any type of work. With my education, I can’t imagine myself becoming a trainer. My life has changed. Today I am a self-independent woman and can afford a better lifestyle which was a dream come true”, Ameshia stated

Ambitious K. Ameshia, gave up her studies and joined the Don Bosco Tech training program to support her family. Currently, she is working as the Technical Trainer at Elementia wellness (Tattva spa) Dimapur, Nagaland. She is earning INR 35000 per month. She helps financially in educating her younger sisters and brother. She even helped her father to buy a plot of land in Senapati so that the expenses on house rent for her siblings going to schools can be reduced.

To know her achievement, let us go back to where she started. Ameshia is from the Senapati District, of Manipur. Her father Mr Kamba is a cultivator and her mother Mrs Pousila is a homemaker. She has 4 younger sisters and one younger brother. All her siblings are still studying.

She discontinued her studies because she wanted to help her parents being the eldest in the family. Coming from a humble family, parents faced lots of challenges meeting the expenses of the family with hardly any income. She could not bear to see her parents struggling to manage the expenses of their school fees and household expenses. So she made up her mind to attend the training and go for the job offered by Don Bosco Tech, Maram. Before joining the Don Bosco Tech skill training program, she was a teacher at Kids Quest School, Ziro Arunachal Pradesh. She came home for a holiday and met her cousin sister Celine who was working in Don Bosco Tech Maram and briefed her about the course and the job opportunities. During the training, she learned new skills. She was very interested to learn new things and she would carry out her work neatly. She was very responsive and she takes up responsibilities for any group work assigned to them during the training.

On successful completion of the Assistant Beauty Therapist course, she was placed in Taj Aurangabad initially as a trainee for three months. She worked at Taj Malabar Resort & Spa Cochin Kerala in the years 2014 November to 2017 August. She then joined Rambagh Palace Jaipur from 2017 August to 2018 1st August. While she was still working she got an offer to work at Elementia Wellness Pvt Ltd (Tattva spa) Gurugram as a trainer. With much encouragement from her trainers, she joined Elementia Wellness Pvt Ltd (Tattva spa) Gurugram as Technical Trainer in August 2018.

Ms Celine, trainer of Maram said “ Ameshia was at first very shy and was scared of any task but during the course of her training she learned a lot. She shows a keen interest in the class and was eager to acquire new skills. I am glad that because of the training she received from Don Bosco Tech, her life has changed and brought her to this level whereas all her friends are still working as a therapist. She has shown exemplary actions to the other friends of her hard work and never give up attitude. She is happy working as a trainer and having a contented life”.

Mr Kamba Father of Ameshia said “I am very happy that my daughter is doing so well, I could not do much as a father but she supported the family all these years after being employed. While working with Taj Hotels she took us for a holiday and I got the opportunity to stay in a 5-star hotel which was just a dream for many people like me. Thank you Don Bosco Tech for helping my daughter to have a better life”.

She worked very hard to reach the level of life where she is now. She did not give up; she was focused and dedicated to any work assigned to her. Not forgetting her family members back at home. She was not carried away by the city life. She invested her time and hard work by completing her classes 10 and 12 through a distance education mode as she knew the value of education and knowledge after getting exposed to the corporate world where there are lots of competition and challenges at work.

The skills she learnt from Don Bosco Tech and her experience with Taj Hotels has helped in her career progression and today she is confident to teach and train new recruits for her company. She imparts her skills to her trainees based on her experience while working as a therapist which motivates them to take up the job and face all the challenges at the workplace.

Ameshia’s advice to Don Bosco Tech trainees is ‘do not blame your family, society for who you are; I would like to leave a quote: “Your life is how you make it.”
